Have You Lost the Joy?

My wife and I were recently in Fiji for one of my team’s evangelistic festivals. There we met a young man named Saul.

Saul told us that he was converted at 16. He had been so excited about being a Christian at first. But, he said, «The last three years I’ve cooled off. I don’t enjoy worship or the Bible anymore. I’ve lost my first love. Would you pray for me?» he asked.

It’s easy to get burned out as a Christian when you try to do it all on your own. The same is true for sharing your faith. If you try witnessing in your own strength, you’ll soon lose the fire and lack the power… the sense of authority.

But I love Galatians 2:20 because it says, «I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.» What a great promise! God is living in you, doing His work through you, if you allow Him. You don’t have to do it on your own.

Ask Jesus this week to give you opportunities to share your faith, and then rest in Him. He is living in you and He will do the work of changing lives right before your eyes!
